My 12 year old son came out to the jewelry store with me one day last week. Since he is a big Dr. Who fan I thought it would be cool to fabricate a pendant with him. I had him find the Dr. Who logo on the internet.
I grabbed a sheet of sterling silver and saw pierced the main shape.
I cut a channel down the center to cause a weak spot to help control and make a crisp bend. I put one side in a vise and we tapped the other side with a rawhide mallet to create the angle.
I shaped a rubber abrasive wheel to a knife edge and made the grooves of the design that form the letters “D” and “W”.
I soldered on a jump ring and gave it a polish. Then we jumped back in Tardis and went home. The pictures of the pendant each step of the way were taken by Carter for this blog post.
