I love the challenge of duplicating pieces of jewelry. The challenge of matching the fine details. Matching diamonds. Size, color, clarity. Matching the manufacturing procedure so the end product looks as close the original. I love it when it is difficult to tell them apart. In this case, Gary had lost a cuff link and asked me to create a matching one. I carved a two piece wax model and cast them.
Matching the back of the cuff link was easy, it was a common finding that we ordered from Stuller. I sanded, polished and assembled it all. Flush set the carefully matched diamonds, gave it a final polish and refinished the original cuff link.
