Instead of getting a replacement synthetic stone and resetting it in the typical way, we approached it from a different angle. I cut out an oval from a sheet of 14k white gold and soldered on a 14k yellow “M” that we ordered from Stuller Findings. I then laser welded the assembled plate where the missing stone used to be. The result is a fabulous look for a collage class ring at a fraction of what a new one would cost. Tom says his ring really gets noticed now and receives many compliments.
